Metaphor – Time is a thief – takes opportunities/life, Time= negative
Hyperbole – I’m so hungry i could eat a horse – exaggeration by stating the impossible
Personification – The avalanche devoured anything standing in its way – Negative connotation. Consume, eat, demolish, destroy, hungry, unstoppable, greedy
Simile – When the exam was over she felt light as a feather – Weight of exams are off her shoulders, relieved, free, weightless, no pressure
Alliteration – Kim’s kid kept kicking like crazy – Flow, rhythm, ‘K’ repeated, hammer, banging
Metaphor – She has such a bubbly personality – Fun, light, bath, sun, positive, connotations -> happy, fizzy drinks
Personification – The milks favourite cookie was oreo –
Personification – April is the cruellest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land – cruel & breeding
Metaphor – He reeks of infidelity – bad smell -> cheating – means it is very obvious that he is cheating
