Macbeth practice exam essay

Describe at least one key symbol in the written text. Explain why the symbol had value for you as a reader.

Sir William Shakespeare, an English playwright very well known for his late 1500 early 1600 plays. In Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” he uses blood as one of the main key symbols. Shakespeare uses blood to symbolize guilt which shows us that the play is about “bad ambition” and the effects it can have on certain people if you push yourself over the limit.

Throughout the play, Shakespeare uses multiple quotes that pursue the symbol of blood. The quote “Out damned spot, out I say!” was spoken by Lady Macbeth as she was attempting to wash away the blood
