In the middle of the woods, behind the tall pine trees, in the darkness there was an abandoned house which lacked life. it stood in a composed way, as if it had chosen to be alone. as if residents were a luxury it could forgo. The floors had been highly polished wooden and croaky. individual blocks lovingly placed and sanded to a smooth finish before the varnish was brushed on with fine bristles. The walls stood firm, the window frames seemed strong. the glass was triple glazed and whole. it looked like a movie-set, a place waiting for life to come. the only give-away was the odour, well, that and the dust. it was musty and dry, but nothing opening the doors and windows couldn’t solve. a spring clean and some fresh flowers, perhaps the house would enjoy the luxury of company.
jacob was exploring the woods when he came across the tall pine trees. he could see the darkness that lay behind. he knew he had to see what was behind the trees and in the darkness. he slowly walked over to the trees. heart jumping out of his chest. he finally found the abandoned house. as he was inspecting the outside. he found the back door. he opens it and goes inside. he could see the remaining furniture of those who once lived there. the smell oh my gosh the smell was horrid. it smelt as if something or someone died in there. but little did jacob know he was never getting out of that house.
